In 1977, during the energy crisis, a simple question drove the founding of Azon: what if buildings didn’t waste so much energy? Buildings are the single largest consumers of energy on the planet. And windows and doors are where much of that energy escapes. Aluminum fenestration systems, strong and durable as they are, conduct heat with remarkable efficiency.
The answer was a process called “Pour and Debridge,” which pairs polyurethane chemistry with custom-built machinery. Together they create a thermal barrier inside the aluminum extrusion itself, filling the extrusion cavity with polyurethane and then cutting away the aluminum bridge that carries heat through the frame. It worked. Manufacturers adopted it. And Azon became the benchmark for thermal barrier technology in aluminum fenestration.
Nearly 50 years later, that same polyurethane expertise also powers thermal solutions for damper manufacturers, fast-cure encapsulation compounds for LED lighting OEMs, and specialty grouts for concrete and infrastructure repair.
The industries are different. The approach never changes. We work alongside manufacturers, step into their production challenges, and engineer the chemistry and machinery that help them build better products.
